Meet the Team

Giles Saxon

Giles qualified from Sheffield University in 1990 and has worked in the Sheffield and North Derbyshire areas ever since. He remains dedicated to continuing professional development, which has resulted in his membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, and gaining additional skills in new areas of dentistry, including implantology.

Giles is enthusiastic and passionate about what he does. His technical competence, clinical skills and in-depth understanding of the dental profession immediately puts his patients at ease. This is dentistry as it should be done – and has earned him a well-deserved reputation to which others aspire.

Angela Shawcroft

Angela began dental nursing in 1984, and qualified in 1986. She has been part of the team at Aspire Dental ever since!

In 2001, Angela furthered her skills by achieving her certificate in dental radiography. She has a friendly approach which helps put patients at ease.

Outside of work, Angela likes spending time with her family and friends, reading and making wine (and occasionally drinking some too!).

Anna Lord

Anna began dental nursing in 2000 and qualified in 2002. She furthered her delta qualifications in 2004 with her certificate in sedation. Anna also gained qualifications in teaching and assessing to help train new dental nurses.

Anna became a member of the Aspire team in 2022.

Outside of work, she likes spending her time with family and friends, driving and visiting new places and going to the gym.

Anne Barratt

Anne began working as a trainee dental nurse at Aspire Dental in 2004, and qualified in 2006.

She worked at a couple of different practices and also in community dental before returning ‘home’ to Aspire in 2025.

In her spare time, Anne enjoys going for food, seeing her family, going for long walks and spending time with her husband, her 2 children and her dog. She also loves going on holiday and exploring the world. Alberta in Canada and Florida in the USA are her favourite places so far!

Lisa Boyce

Lisa started dental nursing in 1986 as a trainee dental nurse at Aspire Dental (trained by Angela). She qualified in 1988 after leaving Aspire Dental. She continued dental nursing at various other practices broadening her experiences and knowledge.

In 2007, Lisa began working in practice management and gained her teaching and assessing qualifications to help to train new dental nurses.

Lisa returned back to the team at Aspire Dental as Practice Manager in 2016. She oversees the day-to-day running of the practice and ensures everything goes smoothly. She still works in surgery one day a week to keep her dental nursing skills

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, running her Guide group, baking and watching cycling races in this country and further afield.

Bruna Dias Carvalho da Costa

Bruna joined Aspire Dental in 2025, initially working with the practice as a locum Dental Hygienist. She quickly became a familiar face within the practice and is delighted to now officially be part of the Aspire team.

Bruna is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain excellent oral health, with a particular interest in periodontal care and prevention. She believes in providing gentle, patient-centred treatment and enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their dental care.

Alongside her clinical work, Bruna is undertaking a PhD at the University of Sheffield, where her research focuses on gum disease. She is also involved in undergraduate teaching at the University, combining her interests in clinical dentistry, research and dental education.

Outside dentistry, Bruna enjoys running, crocheting and painting. She recently completed her first marathon and enjoys setting herself new challenges.

Amy Stocks

Amy began her career in dentistry in 2018, training as a dental nurse at Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and qualifying in 2020. After several years working at the hospital and private practice, she went on to study Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy at the University of Sheffield, qualifying in 2026.

Having experienced different areas of dentistry throughout her career, Amy has developed a real passion for helping patients feel comfortable and at ease in the dental chair. She understands that visiting the dentist can sometimes feel daunting and aims to provide a friendly, relaxed, and gentle approach to every patient. Amy enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them feel more confident about their oral health and smiles.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her young family and of course, her cat, Jim. She also enjoys socialising with friends and family and making the most of opportunities to relax and unwind.
