Natural-looking repairs for damaged teeth

A filling is a very common dental procedure, used to treat cavities and damage that are affecting your oral health. White composite fillings offer an aesthetic repair, rebuilding teeth and restoring your mouth to full function. The composite material looks just like dental enamel when in place, and is colour-matched to your natural tooth to blend perfectly into your smile.

What are the benefits of white fillings?

  • Very natural-looking, becoming a seamless part of your tooth
  • Able to restore decayed, chipped, worn or broken teeth
  • A strong, stable and durable option
  • More healthy tooth enamel can be preserved during placement

Your composite filling treatment steps

Step 1

Firstly, we numb the area around the affected tooth using local anaesthetic to ensure you stay comfortable. We then carefully remove the decayed part of your tooth and give the remaining tooth a thorough clean.

Step 2

We prepare the surface of your tooth using an acidic gel, which allows the composite material to bond effectively. We then wash the gel off and dry your tooth.

Step 3

We match the colour of the composite material to the shade of your natural tooth and apply it in layers, gradually building up the accurate shape. We mould the composite so it fits perfectly in your tooth cavity and feels comfortable.

Step 4

We harden the composite material using a UV light, so it sets immediately. To finish, we give it a polish so it looks and feels like a natural part of your tooth.
