When you arrive for your new patient appointment, we warmly welcome you and show you to our comfortable waiting area. We ask you to fill out a medical history form so we can provide the best and safest treatment tailored to your needs.
Your new patient appointment takes a little longer than a standard check-up, as we take time to get to know you and your oral health. We ask a little about your previous dental experience and treatment, and if you have any concerns about your teeth or gums.
We carry out a thorough examination, assessing your overall dental health. We also take digital X-rays to get a clear and accurate picture beneath your gum line. We discuss any findings with you, as well as your expectations from treatment.
If we find anything that needs urgent treatment, we create your bespoke treatment plan, which includes written cost estimates, and book your next appointments. You are kept fully informed at every stage. If no immediate treatment is needed, we give you some advice to help keep your mouth healthy until your next check-up.

Meet our team
Registering as a new patient at Aspire Dental is simple. Get started by giving our friendly reception team a call on 01246 232 595, and they will answer any questions and help you book your first appointment. Alternatively, you can book online at your convenience.
During your first appointment, you will receive a thorough new patient examination. This is important as it gives us the chance to get to know you and assess your overall oral health. We check your teeth, gums and mouth, and also take X-rays to get a full picture of the areas underneath, between and inside your teeth.
To help us make your first visit as smooth and easy as possible, please bring your completed medical history form to your first appointment – or arrive slightly earlier so you can fill one in at the practice. It can also be useful to bring details of any previous dental treatment.
We understand that you may be feeling nervous about visiting the dentist, especially if you haven’t been for a check-up in many years. Please don’t worry – we are here to help make your visit as comfortable and relaxed as possible. If you are feeling anxious, please let us know when you book so we can tailor our care to your needs. We can discuss your treatment in as much or little detail as you are happy with, and provide empathetic and gentle care to help you feel at ease.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible, and let us know at least 24 hours in advance. This means we can offer the appointment slot to another patient, and avoids the need for you to pay any cancellation charges.
