What are the benefits of veneers?
- Correct minor issues or totally transform your teeth
- Strong, stable and long-lasting solution
- Preserve more of your healthy tooth
- A fast way to a flawless smile
Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells that fit over the front surface of your teeth to truly enhance the appearance of your smile. They are made from highly natural-looking porcelain or ceramic material, and can conceal imperfections including discolouration, chips or misalignment. Whether you have one veneer or a whole arch of veneers, you can expect a dramatic smile transformation.

During your initial consultation, we make sure your teeth and gums are perfectly healthy and suitable for veneers. We discuss the treatment and answer any of your questions.
We take impressions so we can create models of your teeth. These models are used for a ‘wax-up’, allowing us to design your veneers and even show you a preview of how they can transform the appearance of your teeth.
Once you’re happy with the look that we’ve come up with together, we will prepare your teeth if you need to have a layer of enamel removed. We’ll provide temporary veneers to keep your teeth protected.
Your veneers are crafted at the dental laboratory using the models of your teeth. When we receive your veneers, we’ll see you again for your fitting. We make sure the look is exactly as you expected before we fix the veneers using a dental adhesive.

Caring for your veneers is just the same as caring for your natural teeth! Maintain a regular brushing and flossing routine every day to keep your veneers bright and the teeth and gums underneath healthy. Your dentist and hygienist will show you how to keep on top of your dental hygiene and keep a close eye on the health of your teeth and gums at your regular check-up appointments.
While veneers are made from durable materials, they can be damaged if subjected to extreme stress. It is important to treat them with care. Avoid using your teeth as tools (using them for opening bottles or packages) and steer clear of habits such as biting pen lids or chewing ice. We also recommend avoiding excessively hard foods that could cause damage or chipping.
In most cases, fitting porcelain veneers requires the removal of a small amount of your natural tooth enamel. Because of this, the treatment is considered irreversible and the restoration is designed to be kept on your teeth permanently.
While the treatment itself is permanent, the veneers themselves are very long-lasting—they can last up to 15 years or more, depending on how well you look after them, before they may need replacing.
You shouldn’t find either the treatment for veneers or the veneers themselves painful. We use a local anaesthetic to minimise your discomfort during the preparation and fitting process and ensure you are relaxed and ready before beginning any treatment. Most patients experience no pain or discomfort at all. You may feel some sensitivity once your veneers have been fitted, but this will go away after a few days.
